Bigamy Extraordinary.-Those of your readers who are " up " in Rockhampton matters, are aware of the decease of Charles Wakefield, late proprietor of the Fitzroy Hotel. Some of them may also have heard that his amiable relict (well known as "Emily") gave her heart and hand in marriage to one Macdonald, within four or five months of poor Charley's death. Such, unfortunately, was the fact. They were married in this town by the Rev. Samuel Savage, Congregational minister ; and great was the company of tin-pot musicians on that never-to-be-forgotten occasion. Much slander and small talk was uttered about the matter, but the most far-seeing of our local prophets could never have predicted such a denouement as burst over the happy (?) pair on Saturday afternoon. It appears that Macdonald was already married to a lady, whose attractions, both personal and pecuniary, were far above those of the rotund and rubicund Emily ; and Mrs, Macdonald No. 1 did actually arrive here per Boomerang, in her proper person, on Saturday afternoon. I have seen Mr. and Mrs. Macdonald, No. 1, arm-in-arm parading the town, with Mrs. Macdonald No. 2 bringing up their rear; and have heard both ladies vigorously plying the cause of their woes with their tongues. No doubt Macdonald will be made to repent of his mad trick.
